FSB officers on Monday, December 1, prevented a terrorist attack during which a recruited agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) tried to undermine one of the senior officers of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Crimea. The department's Public Relations Center publishes footage of the terrorist attack prevention.

"On the instructions of the GUR, a citizen of Ukraine recruited by the special service was supposed to detonate a Russian serviceman in his personal car using a transferred explosive device," the FSB said.

The perpetrator, who offered armed resistance and was neutralized, was found to have Western-made explosive devices and means of communication with the curator. GUR employee Rustem Fakhriev, born in 1984, was behind the organization of the terrorist attack. One of his accomplices was detained in the territory of the Republic of Crimea.

"A criminal case has been opened against the latter under Article 205.1 ("Assistance to terrorist activities") The Criminal Code of Russia," the FSB Central Control Center added.

According to the court's decision, the malefactor was taken into custody.
