- The FSB in Crimea prevented a terrorist attack against one of the senior officers of the Russian Defense Ministry
A recruited agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) tried to commit a terrorist act against one of the senior officers of the Ministry of Defense of Russia in the territory of the Republic of Crimea. This was announced on December 1 by the FSB's Public Relations Center.
"On the instructions of the GUR, a citizen of Ukraine recruited by the special service was supposed to detonate a Russian serviceman in his personal car using an explosive device given to him," the ministry said in a statement.
The attacker offered armed resistance to the FSB officers and was neutralized. During the search, the components of a Western-made explosive device were seized from him, as well as the means of communication with which he contacted the curator.
It was established that an employee of the GUR, Rustem Fakhriev, born in 1984, was behind the organization of the terrorist attack.
"One of his accomplices, a resident of the Republic of Crimea, has been detained. A criminal case has been opened against the latter under Article 205.1 ("Assistance to terrorist activities"). The Criminal Code of Russia. According to the court's decision, he was taken into custody," the FSB noted.
Earlier, on November 20, the FSB prevented a terrorist attack against a high-ranking officer of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The Ukrainian special services used a new, multi-stage scheme to poison a serviceman in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). As a gift, in the form of beer bottles, a mixture of highly toxic toxic substances "colchicine" and "tretbutylbicyclophosphate" (an analogue of the nerve agent VX, prohibited by the Chemical Weapons Convention 1993) was mixed into the British production.
