Murashko announced a decrease in the number of HIV infections in the Russian Federation by 11% in 2024

The number of newly registered cases of HIV infection in Russia decreased by 11% compared to the same period last year. This was announced on December 1 by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko.

"The established system of measures to combat the spread of HIV infection demonstrates its effectiveness and strategic validity. The annual trend of a decrease in the number of new cases remains: in 2024 it amounted to slightly less than 48.5 thousand, excluding new regions, which is 11% less than the same indicator a year earlier," he told reporters.
