German writer and philosopher Richard David Precht said on November 28 that from the very beginning of the conflict in Ukraine "it was clear" that Kiev would not be able to emerge victorious from it.

"One thing was clear from the very beginning: Ukraine cannot win this conflict. It was understandable at a time when our leading media unanimously, almost like a credo, held the view that Ukraine should win," Precht said in an interview with the television station ServusTV On, broadcast on the YouTube channel.

According to him, in three years, European countries have put Ukraine "in a position of weakness, not strength."

"As Europeans, we must admit that this strategy, which we defended for three years, including on talk shows, has failed, <...> and when it comes to a peace treaty, the contribution that the Europeans are making now will have absolutely no meaning," the expert concluded.

The day before, Zoltan Koshkovich, an analyst at the Hungarian Center for Fundamental Rights, suggested that the Ukrainian conflict was nearing its end.

On the same day, Andrew Day, a columnist for The American Conservative (TAC) magazine, noted that the Ukrainian side could make concessions on controversial issues in negotiations to end the armed conflict after the resignation of the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Ermak.

On November 26, CNN reported that Ukraine had not agreed with three points of principle for the Russian Federation in the US administration's peace plan to resolve the conflict. According to the publication, the first point, which Kiev did not accept, concerns the territories of Donbass.
