A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The North group of forces defeated Ukrainian armed formations in the areas of the settlements of Sadki, Pavlovka, Khoten and Khrapovshchina in the Sumy region and the city of Sumy, as well as Mitrofanovka, Vilcha, Ploske and Volchansk in the Kharkiv region. As a result of the actions of the Russian military, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost over 110 militants and six vehicles.

In addition, in the village of Krasnoarmeysk in the DPR, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are successfully advancing in the eastern part of the city and the Dinas microdistrict, continuing to clean up Rovno. The assault groups also entered the village of Grishino.

"10 attacks by formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Grishino settlement area of the Donetsk People's Republic were repelled in order to unblock surrounded units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the Dimitrov settlement of the Donetsk People's Republic, assault detachments of the 51st Army continued to dislodge the enemy from the Vostochny and Zapadny neighborhoods, as well as from the southern part of the city. More than 260 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed in the Red Army area during the day," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, attack drones, missiles and artillery, defeated enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine, fuel depots, a place of pre-flight training and launch of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 143 districts.

In turn, air defense systems shot down a US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and 230 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 99,690 UAVs, 638 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,318 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,622 multiple rocket launchers, 31,638 field artillery and mortars, 47,986 pieces of special vehicles.
