Veronika Koldina, the granddaughter of blockade runner Nina Sakharnova, who was a TikTok star, told Izvestia on November 30 about her grandmother's last days.

"I spent 10 days in intensive care," she said.

According to the girl, the deterioration began with pulmonary edema, which was initially mistaken for tracheitis. After calling an emergency room with suspected pneumonia, Sakharnova was taken to Botkin Hospital, where doctors confirmed the swelling.

Koldina noted that after Sakharnova's edema was removed, she admitted that she "no longer had the strength" to live. Shortly after that, she lost her hearing and had cardiac arrhythmias, after which she was transferred to the intensive care unit and then to the War Veterans Hospital. Her relatives were able to visit her three times at a medical facility.

According to her granddaughter, the day before her death, they accidentally met a priest in the hospital who agreed to come to Sakharnova. She passed away the next day.

Sakharnova's farewell is scheduled for Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Sakharnova died in St. Petersburg at the age of 104. The death of a woman was reported about three hours ago. She celebrated her 104th birthday four days ago.
