- KCNA reported on Kim Jong-un's assignment of new strategic tasks to the country's Air Force
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that the country's Air Force will receive new strategic tasks and resources to strengthen its defense capability. This was reported on November 30 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"Our air force will be assigned new important tasks along with new strategic military resources," the agency quoted Kim Jong-un as saying.
During the celebrations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the DPRK Air Force at Galma airfield, the head of state stressed that great hopes are pinned on the air force in ensuring nuclear deterrence and countering any military provocations.
It is noted that Kim Jong-un highly appreciated the fighting spirit and professionalism of the pilots, noting that the success of operations depends not only on equipment, but also on the training and dedication of personnel.
The publication clarifies that a demonstration flight was also held at the event, which was attended by experienced and new pilots, including female pilots who demonstrated their fighter control skills.
Thus, the celebration became not only a celebration of the 80-year history of the Air Force, but also a platform for announcing new tasks that strengthen the strategic role of the DPRK air force, KCNA reported.
Earlier, on November 2, Kim Jong-un visited the command of the 11th corps of the Korean People's Army, which is considered elite. It was noted that during the visit he visited the historical and revolutionary museum of the corps, met with military and political commanders and watched the training of special forces soldiers.
