Mironov proposed to pay unemployed mothers a salary for motherhood
On November 30, the leader of the Fair Russia party, Sergei Mironov, proposed that unemployed mothers who raise children should be paid a "parental salary" of at least the minimum subsistence level (minimum wage) for each child.
"If one of the parents - usually a mother — is with a child, then let her receive a salary of at least the minimum subsistence level. <...> Our dear women need mandatory state support," the TASS news agency quoted him as saying.
It is noted that we are talking about monthly payments to the parent until the child reaches the age of majority.
Mironov added that many regions introduce their own one-time payments for Mother's Day, most often they are assigned to large families. However, it is important, according to the deputy, to make such payments not on a one-time basis.
