Ryabkov pointed to attempts by European countries to prevent a solution to the conflict in Ukraine.

Europe has hindered the achievement of solutions on Ukraine in the past and at the present time. This was announced on November 29 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

"Let's remember 2022, let's remember how close we came to agreements in the framework of direct negotiations with Ukraine. Again, the malicious machinations of Western capitals, among which London stood out, prevented a solution from being reached at that stage," the diplomat said on TVC.

According to him, the refusal to continue normal diplomatic work was dictated by the curators from Europe. And now the situation is repeating itself, Ryabkov added.

He stressed that the US administration is pursuing a more sensible course and treats the situation with the Ukrainian conflict more adequately than the Europeans. Moscow continues its dialogue with Washington.

Earlier, on November 27, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the European Union (EU) countries fully want to interfere with the political and diplomatic process in Ukraine. She added that if Europe had initially wanted peace, they would not have lied that they were going to implement the Minsk agreements, but would have actually followed them.
