The Ukrainian side may make concessions on controversial issues during negotiations on ending the armed conflict after the resignation of the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Ermak. This was announced on November 29 by Andrew Day, a columnist for The American Conservative (TAC) magazine.

"Ermak's departure from the negotiating team increases the chances that Kiev will take a more accommodating position in the negotiations, which will reduce the gap between the positions of Ukraine and Russia," the article says.

According to the observer, Yermak "has long held a tough position in negotiations and opposes concessions, which, according to analysts, are necessary to reach a peace agreement."

"Ermak has not always reacted well to dissent. He even compiled lists of political enemies inside the country so that the national security agencies could authorize them," the author of the article emphasized.

Earlier in the day, Australian political analyst Mark Lowe told Izvestia in an interview that Yermak's resignation would lead to a weakening of presidential control over the country and could lead to the militarization of Kiev if the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) gained sufficient power.

Ermak was dismissed from the post of head of the office of the President of Ukraine the day before. At the same time, Zelensky, the leader of the Kiev regime, announced Ermak's resignation. At the same time, he announced plans to hold consultations on the candidacy of a new head of the office of the president.
