The expert told about the best material for a cutting board
Russian chefs choose cutting boards with extreme caution, as the wrong choice can speed up the blunting of knives. Olga Novikova, an expert and CEO of the SAMURA brand of kitchen knives, told about this on November 29. "Газете.Ru ".
According to the expert, the wooden board takes excellent care of the blade. Wood is a relatively soft and fibrous material. Upon contact, the tip of the knife does not meet a hard rebuff, but the board remains flat and without gaps. As a result, the blade stays sharp longer.
"Another important plus is its antibacterial properties. Natural wood, especially pine fiber, contains natural resins that inhibit bacterial growth. The wood prevents the products from sliding, which increases the safety of slicing: onions do not fly away, meat does not fidget," Novikova said.
Novikova clarified that wooden boards are gentle to the blade and prolong its service life, but they require careful care: you can not leave them in water for a long time and wash them in the dishwasher, after use the board must be dried. Plastic boards are practical, but their quality strongly depends on the material and production. Cheap plastic can quickly dull a knife, and the scratches that appear become an ideal environment for bacteria.
The specialist advises using thermoplastic boards: they are elastic, wear-resistant, chemically neutral and do not damage knives.
"A wooden board requires care, but it returns it generously, carefully preserving the edge of the blade. Practical thermoplastic, in turn, offers a modern and carefree alternative, but only if it is of uncompromising quality," Novikova concluded.
Earlier, on November 28, consultant on strategic and anti-crisis management, CEO of OOO "Together.ABOUT" Olesya Berezhnaya said that in November, Russian residents are planning a budget for the New Year's table. According to the expert, a traditional full New Year's Eve dinner for four people, including two hot dishes, meat and cheese cuts, three salads, sandwiches with red fish and red caviar, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, can amount to about 12 thousand rubles.
