- The political analyst pointed to the defeat of NATO in Ukraine against the background of Ermak's resignation
The resignation of the head of the office of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Andrei Ermak, testifies to the defeat of the NATO bloc in Ukraine, against which the beneficiaries of the continuation of the conflict are trying to blame someone else while they themselves are trying to "get away with it." On November 29, German political analyst Eike Hamer drew attention to this in an interview with Izvestia.
"I think NATO is in danger of total defeat in Ukraine. Some people who have profited very well from this conflict are trying to get out of the game, others are trying to escape. They need to "hang" one of their own, because the rest think they can get away with it," he said.
The analyst noted that representatives of Europe and Kiev's partners from the United States could also receive huge amounts of money through kickbacks and similar schemes. Bitcoin could be a key tool for money laundering.
At the same time, the expert noted that Ermak was not the central link in the corruption schemes.
"He is just one of the poor victims who was hanged high enough. He's not at the center of the whole scheme — he's just chosen so that others feel they can get away with their money without consequences," the political analyst noted.
Ermak's resignation could also have been influenced by Kiev's desire to "calm down" Europe and create the appearance of fighting corruption schemes.
"The Americans have already effectively withdrawn from the game, but the Europeans needed to create the appearance of fighting corruption. In fact, there is no struggle — everything continues as before," Hamer stated.
Zelensky announced Yermak's resignation earlier in the day. He also spoke about plans to hold consultations on the candidacy of a new head of the office of the President.
The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yaroslav Zheleznyak notified about the searches at Ermak. It was clarified that it was being conducted as part of a criminal case on corruption of businessman Timur Mindich (he is called the head of the criminal scheme). Later, RBC-Ukraine reported that charges had not been brought against anyone from President Zelensky's office after searches of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) at Andriy Ermak.
On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the corruption scandal in Ukraine could lead to complications in its negotiations with the United States. He noted that the consequences of this scandal could be very severe for the political system of Ukraine, and could also complicate the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict.
On November 28, Florian Philippot, the leader of the French right-wing Patriots party, called Yermak's resignation the collapse of the Ukrainian regime and called for French aid to be stopped.
