Airbus is urgently recalling about 6,000 of its A320 aircraft for urgent repairs and troubleshooting of flight control software. This was reported on November 28 by the Reuters news agency.

"This failure appears to be one of the largest recalls of Airbus in its 55-year history. It occurred a few weeks after the A320 overtook the Boeing 737 in terms of shipments," the publication says.

According to BFM TV, after the announcement of the recall, Air France was forced to cancel 35 flights departing from all airports in France.

It is noted that the decision to recall was made after the October 30 incident in the United States with a JetBlue flight between Cancun (Mexico) and Newark (New York), which showed vulnerability to solar radiation. As a result, the flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Tampa, Florida.

"For most aircraft, updating the software from the previous version will take "several hours." However, about 1,000 aircraft will require replacement of computer equipment, which will take much longer," the publication says.

A JetBlue airline plane en route from Cancun, Mexico to Newark, made an emergency landing in Florida on October 30, and at least 15 passengers were hospitalized. The airline noted that the Airbus A320 aircraft was diverted to Tampa International Airport when turbulence was detected. Vivian Shedd, a representative of the Tampa Bay Fire Department, said that emergency personnel examined about 20 passengers, of whom 15 were taken to the hospital with injuries.
