The Kairos tanker fire off the coast of Turkey could have been caused by external interference. This was announced on November 28 by the country's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu.

"The first definition as the cause of the explosion is an external factor," A haber TV channel quoted the head of the Turkish Ministry of Transport.

It is noted that the fire on the Virat tanker has been extinguished, while Kairos has not yet been extinguished.

Uraloglu added that 25 Kairos crew members were rescued, as well as 20 people from Virat.

Earlier that day, a fire broke out in the Black Sea off the Turkish coast on the tanker Kairos, traveling without cargo. It was noted that the incident occurred at a distance of 45 km from the coast of Turkey.

It was later reported that the Gambian-flagged tanker Virat was attacked in the Black Sea off the coast of Turkey, the crew was not injured.
