Tsakhkna compared Europe to a fat cat on the military issue
On November 28, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna criticized Europe's approach to defense readiness, comparing it to an "old fat cat."
"I have said many times that Europe has been behaving like an old fat cat for years and decades," Tsakhkna said in an interview with Newsweek.
The Estonian minister called for a more rational approach to the allocation of increased funding for military needs. According to him, Europe needs to make informed decisions about the development of defense capabilities, since budget funds for the next decade will be received next year.
Bloomberg reported on October 15 that the EU plans to propose the launch of joint projects on drones and air defense (air defense) in the coming months as part of a five-year rearmament plan. The main goal of this plan is to increase Europe's combat capability by 2030. As part of the new initiative, the EC proposes to review the military planning and procurement system.
