The State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct mass inspections of drivers in the regions

On Friday and next weekend, November 28-30, the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct massive and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to the prevention and suppression of cases of drunk driving. The upcoming raids were announced by the regional departments of the department.

Traffic police will carry out preventive measures on the roads of the Krasnoyarsk and Primorsky Territories, Tver, Kirov, Ivanovo, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk, Penza, Smolensk, Tambov, Jewish Autonomous Regions, as well as in other regions of Russia.

"Driving while intoxicated is unacceptable: This is one of the most serious traffic violations, which leads to the most serious consequences and endangers the life and health of not only the drunk driver, but also his passengers, as well as other road users. We urge citizens who have witnessed how a drunk person plans to get behind the wheel of a car or motorcycle, behaves inappropriately, creates dangerous situations on the road, to report this to the police. This message can save someone's life," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as refusing a medical examination, entails the deprivation of a driver's license for a period of one and a half to two years and a heavy fine. In addition, in some cases, the driver faces criminal liability for these acts.

Earlier, on November 1, it was reported that following the results of the first nine months of 2025, a decrease in accident rates was recorded in Russia. The number of road accidents decreased by 2.4% (94.9 thousand cases), the number of dead — by 3.4% (10.1 thousand people), injured — by 3% (117.7 thousand people).
