The Leninsky District Court of Perm has decided to dismiss Boris Milgram from the post of artistic director of the Perm Academic Theater due to loss of trust. The decision was announced on November 28 by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Perm Region.
The court granted the claim of the deputy prosecutor of the region, obliging the Ministry of Culture of the region to make a decision on the removal of Milgram from office.
"During the prosecutor's inspection, a conflict of interest was previously identified in the actions of the theater director when concluding 12 contracts for the staging of performances," the prosecutor's office's Telegram channel said.
According to local media, a conflict of interest arose when concluding contracts with director Alexander Pronkin, whose wife is the daughter of Eva Milgram, artistic director of the Theater.
Milgram first became the head of the Perm Academic Theater (formerly the Perm Academic Drama Theater) in 2004. From 2008 to 2011, he was also the Minister of Culture and Mass Communications of the region. He took up the position of artistic director of the theater in 2012.
At the end of September, Vladimir Kekhman, General Director of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater, was also dismissed from his post.
