Yandex Market will test a new business model for working with sellers
Starting from December 8, Yandex Market will reduce the commission for placement for sellers in the Beauty Products category and limit the use of its own discounts. This was announced by the company's press service.
For sellers who store goods in Market warehouses, as well as those working under the Express model, the commission will be 5%. For those who sell from their warehouse — 12%. Previously, the maximum commission level in the category was 48%. The marketplace will also limit discounts at its own expense in order to create equal conditions for partners on the site and will be able to decide for themselves where to direct funds, for example, in prices or advertising, in order to make their offer more competitive..
"We hear the sellers' request, we offer them to cooperate in a new way — low commission, maximum control over the price of their goods. We expect that the relationship will be transparent and predictable," said Vladislav Sklyanov, Yandex Market's Chief Financial Officer.
Testing of the new model will be phased: the marketplace will analyze changes in the selected category, feedback from partners, and in case of positive results, it will be ready to scale the model to all other categories in the first half of 2026.
