Support for motherhood is an important topic of state policy, and the Liberal Democratic Party will seek support measures for Russian mothers. This was stated by the head of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky at an expanded meeting of the party's faction in the State Duma on the topic "Realization of the rights and protection of mothers in Russia" on the eve of Mother's Day, which is celebrated on November 30.

"So far, we have been recording violations when applying for jobs. <...> We believe it is necessary to increase the age of the child, at which termination of the employment contract with the mother on the initiative of the employer is not allowed, from three to seven years. And here, dear colleagues, we will finalize the preparation of the relevant bill in the coming weeks," the leader said.

Among the proposals, the party outlined a legislative ban on dismissal or exerting any pressure on mothers raising children under the age of seven. In addition, the Liberal Democratic Party proposes the introduction of a special allowance, the so-called "parental salary", which is intended for one parent in families with two or more children. It is noted that the allowance will be assigned for the period of child care until they reach the age of seven.

Along with this, the Liberal Democratic Party proposes to prohibit creditors from charging penalties, fines and penalties for delinquencies on consumer loans for the entire period of maternity leave. In addition, the party proposes to strengthen state support for crisis centers that provide assistance to women in difficult life situations, as well as to introduce an amnesty on Mother's Day for women who were first convicted of minor and moderate crimes, mothers of minor and disabled children, as well as pregnant women, widows and single mothers whose husbands, sons and the daughters died defending the Fatherland.

Slutsky also stressed the need to solve the problem of non-payment of alimony by imposing responsibility on regional authorities, followed by compulsory collection of paid funds from defaulters.

Earlier, on November 28, an Ormatek campaign survey reviewed by Izvestia showed that Russians' interest in Mother's Day is growing. Almost half of the respondents (48%) are ready to spend up to 3 thousand rubles on a holiday gift, another 28% — up to 5 thousand rubles, and 16% — up to 10 thousand rubles. 10% of respondents have the highest budget.
