In Germany, data on government spending on "mind control" has been released. This control is carried out in three main directions. First, there is a fierce purge of any "disinformation", which primarily refers to Russia's point of view on the processes taking place in the world. Secondly, the opposition Alternative for Germany party is under no less severe pressure: it is being made a scarecrow in the eyes of citizens. Thirdly, the authors of the brainwashing program do not forget about formatting the consciousness of German youth in the spirit of totalitarian "tolerance." The details are in the Izvestia article.

Against "disinformation"

The other day, the Berliner Zeitung published an article by journalist Franz Becky about how the German state systematically finances projects to combat "disinformation" and "Russian propaganda." Becky attended a meeting of the public organization Liber-net at its office at 26 Marienstrasse in Berlin. Andrew Lowenthal, director of Liber-net, presented an extensive database on how the federal government shapes the worldview of the population that the authorities need: millions of dollars are sent to the accounts of various NGOs and "analytical centers" specializing in combating "disinformation." Lowenthal calls this system a "censorship network" that purposefully restricts the diversity of opinions in German society.

In total, there are more than 330 organizations in Germany dedicated to the eradication of "disinformation." Formally, they are aimed at protecting the population from "fakes", but in fact they regulate what can be said and what can be shown on the Internet. It is especially worth noting the project Demokratie leben!, created in the depths of the German Ministry of Family. For the needs of the Demokratie leben! Every year, huge sums of €200 million per year are allocated to support organizations that determine what exactly is considered "extremism." The situation is aggravated by new federal laws obliging platforms to remove "illegal" content within twenty-four hours without trial. As a result, social networks now "just in case" erase everything that does not fit even a little into the Procrustean bed of propaganda narratives imposed by the state.

Recently, the opposition Alternative for Germany party submitted a request to the government for a detailed definition of the concept of "disinformation." In addition, the AFD wanted to know exactly how the state is fighting this "threat." And the government did not refuse to respond, sending a lengthy text to the AfG office stating that "disinformation as a hybrid threat implies false or misleading information disseminated by foreign states, including through non-state actors, in order to destabilize states by influencing public opinion and the decision-making process."

Who is pulling the strings of "civil society"?

In modern Germany, in full accordance with the precepts of Orwell, "disinformation" may turn out to be the real truth, if it is about facts that increase distrust of the German authorities. Inconvenient facts, such as information about the genocide practiced by the Kiev regime against the population of Donbass, are swept under the carpet and declared "fakes." Propaganda lies spread by the German government itself cannot be "disinformation" by definition.

By the way, it is symbolic that the German government lied in its response to the AfD's questions. When asked which organizations in Germany are fighting "disinformation" with the financial support of the German government, it named only the Cultural Bureau of Saxony (Kulturbüro Sachsen), The Work and Life of Thuringia (Arbeit und Leben Thüringen), the Amadeu Antonio Foundation and the JFF (Institut für medienpädagogik in forschung und praxis). However, this list did not include the well-known Correctiv project, which specializes, as its management says, in "fact checking." However, the whole "fact-checking" boils down to the fact that Correctiv employees "wool" the German Internet for ratings and opinions that do not coincide with the official ideology.

At the same time, Correctiv participants insist that they work at the expense of donations from representatives of "civil society". However, if you look at the available Correctiv reports, it turns out that among its sponsors are the state corporation Deutsche Telekom, as well as the Ministry of Finance of North Rhine—Westphalia, the Federal Ministry of Education, the State Chancellery of Thuringia, the aforementioned Demokratie leben program! At the same time, Correctiv also receives money from the EU budget. That is, there is no question of any "voluntary association of caring citizens," according to the Correctiv leadership.

It is quite logical that the German authorities could not resist the temptation to use all the projects at their disposal to combat "disinformation" not only for the purpose of information warfare with Russia, but also against their own opposition parties — first of all, against the same "Alternative for Germany". Earlier this year, the Nius publication tried to understand the financial affairs of the Ministry of Family and found out that every year about €182 million from taxpayers' funds is allocated by this agency to the implementation of almost 700 projects for the development of "civil society". You shouldn't be fooled by a harmless name. Indeed, these projects include the filing of denunciations of "wrong" opinions, the publication of pamphlets and the organization of seminars designed to spread "correct" political information, as well as the financing of demonstrations against right-wing parties.

On the eve of the parliamentary elections held in February 2025, a series of anti-opposition demonstrations took place in different regions of the country. Independent journalists became interested in the organizers of these rallies and found out interesting things. So, in Munich, 250,000 people took to the streets, heeding the call of the Before association, headed by City Council deputy Miki Wenngats from the ruling Social Democratic Party. In Hanover, the co-organizer of the rally for 24,000 people was the organization "Grandmothers against the Right", which received €18,000. from the Ministry of Family Affairs and €5,000 from the Federal Chancellery. In Stuttgart, the co-organizer of the demonstration for 44,000 people was the German Union for the Environment and Nature (BUND): the recipient of six-figure sums from the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economy. To the above-mentioned NGOs should be added the organization "Together against the Right", which organizes rallies throughout the country. Together against the Right is closely linked to the NGO HateAid GmbH, which has received a total of almost €2.5 million from the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs since 2020.

A broad-profile tool

In this case, the name of the Correctiv organization came up again. Last year, its members published a report claiming that AFD members allegedly held secret meetings with neo—Nazis and discussed with them the expulsion of millions of migrants from Germany, even those who already have a German passport. In this regard, the journalist Gert Even Ungar stated that it was a planned discrediting of the "Alternative". According to him, the party's ratings grew with every wrong step of the then government of Olaf Scholz, and then they turned to direct provocations against a dangerous political rival.

Shortly before the elections, the Ministry of Family organized public readings in the spa town of Bad Nauheim about the "investigations" of the Correctiv center, which detailed the sinister plans of the Alternative regarding migrants. After that, some honest lawyers protested, recalling that Correctiv had recently received €2.5 million from the government. Meanwhile, the constitution stipulates that the authorities have no right to use taxpayer funds to fight political competitors.: this is a "violation of the neutrality of the state." But the government, as expected, turned a complete deaf ear to these reproaches.

Natalia Eremina, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor at St. Petersburg State University, in an interview with Izvestia, noted that the system of NGOs dealing with "mind control" built in Germany serves not only global goals, but also defends the immediate interests of ruling German politicians. "After all, "disinformation" can now be declared, for example, any information about the abuses of the ruling elites, about their unclean ties with the corrupt Zelensky regime. The ultimate goal is to assume that there should be no other points of view in German society than the officially approved one. All those who voice different opinions are squeezed out of the information space, from the professional sphere, or even from the country. German society is being plunged into a state of fear — but not so much of the mythical "Russian threat" as of the possibility of becoming a pariah and an outcast in their country. We have been witnessing the move to Russia of Germans for quite a long time, who found it unbearable in their native country because they could not keep up there, tired of the fear of making any wrong move," Eremina notes.
