In Russia, operators have launched verification for foreign SIM cards

Russian telecom operators have launched a verification mechanism for foreign SIM cards, which block services when they enter the Russian Federation. This was announced on November 28 by the Ministry of Finance.

"Subscribers of Russian telecom operators have previously had the opportunity to restore access to their home network immediately upon arrival in the country. <...> Now a similar function has been launched for holders of foreign SIM cards," the ministry wrote on its website.
