Rostislav Karpusha, commander of the 19th St. Barbara Missile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), was sentenced in absentia to life in prison for shelling a beach in Sevastopol. This was announced on November 28 by the Moscow Prosecutor's Office.

"Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor of the Moscow Prosecutor's office, Rostislav Karpusha, a 21-year—old resident of the city of Nikopol, was found guilty under paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("A terrorist act committed by a group of persons by prior agreement or an organized group that caused the death of a person" — Ed.)," the message says. in the Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, on June 23, 2024, Karpusha sent soldiers of the 4th missile Division to the area bounded by the settlements of Berezanka, Konstantinovka and Prishib of the Mykolaiv region and Novoaleksandrovka of the Kherson region. After that, the commander gave an illegal order to launch a targeted missile strike at the coordinates of the targets transmitted to them.

It is noted that the targets were civilian infrastructure facilities. Four civilians, including two minor children, died as a result of the attack. 113 civilians were injured.

Earlier, on November 26, a court in the Khabarovsk Territory sentenced a resident of Komsomolsk-on-Amur to 17 years in prison for transmitting information about the work of a defense enterprise to the special services of Ukraine. In addition, the man was fined 450 thousand rubles. It was noted that the resident was found guilty under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason)".
