Russia is always open to a mutually beneficial dialogue, but so far no prerequisites have been noticed for such communication on the part of Western countries. This was stated on November 28 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on reports to Izvestia that the possibility of Russia's return to the G8 was being discussed in Western capitals.

"We have never remained closed to anything good that would be based on mutual respect, mutual benefit, legality, law and so on. But there is no feeling that they [the West] have any prerequisites for this," the diplomat stated.
