The bright premiere took place at the Moscow Mask Theater, where the musical "Valentine's Day" was presented to the audience in a new format. This is a story about preparing for a wedding, and in order to organize the celebration, the main characters will have to go through a marathon of events. The production's script, scenery, and musical score have been updated. This was reported on November 28 by Izvestia correspondent Sergey Khaidarov.

The premiere at the Maska Theater is one of the most anticipated cultural events in the capital. The focus, as before, is on music, humor in life, and of course, love.

The main character's name is Jessica, and her lover's name is David. Before finding the cherished "happily ever after", the young couple will have to go through a serious ordeal — to prepare for the wedding.

"I haven't had a wedding yet. So far, I'm only on stage wearing wedding dresses and getting ready. But through our performance, you realize how sensitive this topic is," said theater actress Yulia Churakova.

As Khaidarov noted, this musical ran for five years, but it was released in this format for the first time: new scenery, scale, and the script were almost completely rewritten.

"The dialogues have been expanded. They are brand new. Added humor. It has become more modern, more relevant, for the malice of the day. A completely different set design," added theater actor Stanislav Belyaev.

Musical director, conductor and composer Evgeny Zagot clarified that now the performance has been transferred to a normal theatrical space from the lobby.

"We remember the preparations for our children's wedding, which took place quite recently, this year. It may well lead to discord if it is treated incorrectly," one of the viewers shared.

You don't have to wait until February to have a Valentine's Day. An updated musical about love and relationships awaits the audience all year round.

In July, the ancient Demyanovo estate hosted the Tchaikovsky Night Festival, which is dedicated to the 185th anniversary of Tchaikovsky's birth and the 175th anniversary of his younger brother Modest Tchaikovsky, the author of the libretto for the opera. As part of the project, the opera Iolanta was presented in the author's version by Yuri Bashmet, People's Artist of the USSR, Conductor and Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation.
