The Moscow government has launched a large-scale expansion of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone. In accordance with the industrial development strategy approved by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, by 2030 the SEZ territory will increase from more than 390 to 600 hectares, and the area of public, business and industrial infrastructure will increase from 1.8 million to 5.7 million square meters. m. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"The expansion of the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone is one of the key elements of the capital's industrial development strategy until 2030. On behalf of Sergei Sobyanin, we are creating comfortable conditions for launching new high-tech industries in the SEZ: we are building an innovative infrastructure to accommodate turnkey enterprises, and we provide residents with tax and customs privileges. We expect that in a few years the number of companies here will reach 600, and the volume of investments in the development of the sites will amount to about 1.2 trillion rubles," said Maxim Liksutov.

The document also provides for a significant increase in industrial potential. By the end of the decade, about 600 high-tech enterprises will be operating in the SEZ, and the total investment volume will reach 1.2 trillion rubles. The number of jobs is planned to increase from the current 28,000 to more than 90,000.

Currently, Technopolis Moscow has more than 230 companies producing pharmaceutical products, medical devices, microelectronics, unmanned systems, batteries and components for the space industry and electric vehicles.

SEZ resident status provides enterprises with a number of tax preferences: a ten-year exemption from property, land and transport taxes, a reduced income tax rate of 2% instead of 25%, as well as exemption from customs duties and VAT on imports of goods and equipment under the procedure of a free customs zone.
