Kelin stated the damage to the EU by rejecting Russian resources

Europe's abandonment of Russian energy resources will primarily affect the European Union and the United Kingdom itself, not Russia. This was stated on November 28 by Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin during a cultural event in London.

"In the spirit of the agreed policy of the European Union and the UK, they are really trying to abandon (Russian energy resources. — Ed.) <...> if they want to hurt themselves, no one stops them. That's exactly what they're doing, switching completely to American supplies," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The diplomat stressed that this course reflects a strategic mistake and will lead to additional economic difficulties for European countries.

Europe is not changing its policy, despite the absence of any results of restrictions against the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on November 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled the damage to the European Union (EU) from the refusal to cooperate with Russia in the energy sector. He noted that Moscow does not mind if Europe wants to return to cooperation.
