- Putin urged European businesses to take into account the realities when returning to the Russian market
European companies wishing to return to the Russian market should take into account that many niches are already occupied by Russian entrepreneurs. This was announced on November 27 by Russian President Vladimir Putin during an interview with Nomad TV.
"If they suddenly decide to come back, you're welcome, I've already said it many times. We don't mind, we are open to everyone, we are ready to work with everyone, but, of course, taking into account the realities that have developed at the moment. I mean, many niches in our market are occupied primarily by Russian manufacturers and Russian entrepreneurs," the president said.
The Head of State noted that the country's partners in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) had also entered the Russian market.
Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev told Izvestia on November 21 that German companies that decide to return to Russia will have to take into account new realities and structural changes in the Russian economy that have occurred in recent years.
On September 8, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the impossibility of doing Western business in Russia in the old way. On the same day, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov announced that the Prosecutor General's Office (GP) of the Russian Federation would monitor the observance of the rights of Russian businesses when returning foreign companies.
Prior to that, on June 21, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov said that one of the conditions for the return of foreign enterprises to the country would be compensation for damage after leaving the Russian market in 2022.
