A bail of 95 million hryvnias (more than $2.2 million) was paid for Igor Fursenko, the "black accountant" of the Ukrainian company Energoatom, who participated in corruption schemes. This was reported on November 27 by the Ukrainian edition of "Public" in the Telegram channel.

"Fursenko was the executive director for security at Energoatom and, according to the investigation, served as a back-office accountant for money laundering in a scheme of embezzlement at a state—owned enterprise," the publication says.

It is noteworthy that the amount of the deposit was paid by the private company Varus Synergy, whose authorized capital is only 100 thousand hryvnias ($2.3 thousand). The company listed "wholesale timber trade" as its main activity.

On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) revealed a money laundering scheme in the energy sector of the state, through which about $100 million passed. In the course of the corruption case in the energy sector, seven people were charged, including businessman Timur Mindich (he is called the head of the criminal scheme).

As part of the investigation, on November 12, a court in Kiev arrested Dmitry Basov, Director of Security at Energoatom, for two months with a $1 million bail. On the same day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky demanded the resignation of the country's Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk and Justice Minister German Galushchenko. Grinchuk later submitted her resignation.

Later, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov was questioned as a witness in the Mindich case on November 26. According to the report, he answered all the questions of law enforcement officers. No other details of the conversation are provided.
