The actions led to the bankruptcy of the Euro-Atlantic security system and to the most serious crisis since the Second World War. This was announced on November 28 by Russian Ambassador to Belgium Denis Gonchar.

"The unrestrained expansion of NATO, contrary to promises not to do so, and the imposition of a Nato-centric model of the world, the collapse of the arms control system, the inspiration of color revolutions and violent change of power, aggressive democratization and the undermining of traditional values — all this has bankrupted the Euro-Atlantic security system," Gonchar said at a Russian-Belarusian presentation for the diplomatic corps of Brussels at the Russian Embassy. on the topic "Eurasian security: challenges and prospects".

The Russian ambassador also considers this policy of NATO to be the cause of the crisis in Ukraine and the relationship between Russia and the alliance.

"The constant violation of the principles of sovereign equality, non—use of force or threat of force, and non-interference in internal affairs has led to the fact that today we have the most serious global security crisis since the end of World War II," the politician added.
