The delegation of child care — the services of babysitters or nannies — is quite sharply criticized in society, which is why young parents, who are already worried about every movement of their child, are forced to withstand a large layer of imposed expectations dictated by society. Izvestia tells about the relationship of modern parents to babysitters on November 28, after reviewing a study by the online psychotherapy service Yasno and the baby sitter search service Kidsout.

Approximately 70% of parents feel anxious when they leave their children with strangers. Moreover, one in five of this proportion of respondents indicates that in such situations their anxiety level reaches an average level, and only 25% of respondents feel absolutely calm, confident that their child is in safe hands.

"This is due to the fact that for the first years of life, a very strong bond remains between parents and a child, because of which even a temporary separation can become a source of pain (even physical), resentment and feelings for both mother and child," the authors of the study said.

Experiences activate the most important parental fears — for example, most of them are afraid that a babysitter or babysitter will not cope with the child and will harm him due to inattention (58%). For 53% of the respondents, the very fact that the child is not in their sight is scary — and anything can happen to him, even in a short period of time. And about one in three parents is afraid that the child will be bored and feel unwanted and abandoned, which, according to parents, can greatly affect the child's self—esteem and his attitude towards parents and the world in the future.

Despite the anxiety, it is important for parents to gradually "separate" from the child and push him to explore the world independently. This will eliminate unhealthy codependency in child-parent relationships and go through all the stages of personality formation. However, each stage is accompanied by new difficulties and sometimes it is not easy to withstand them. To do this, you should regularly work on your mental state through physical activity and sessions with a therapist, experts advised.

"For harmonious development and good relationships, the example of a self-caring adult is more useful to a child than the example of a hero who sacrifices everything for the sake of motherhood/fatherhood. In addition, the experience of communicating with different good adults will make the psyche more adaptive and variable," comments Ekaterina Artemenko, a practicing psychologist, gestalt therapist and supervisor, community director of the Yasno service.

Nevertheless, more and more parents are starting to use child care services and at least sometimes try to delegate this task to another person. This is due to a new trend that is being broadcast by both modern psychologists and successful parents: "A happy parent is a happy child." In addition, parents see the following benefits in babysitting: 84% are convinced that thanks to the services of a babysitter, more time is freed up for other tasks. At the same time, about half of the respondents feel a surge of strength. Parents usually spend their free time and energy on solving other household issues and work tasks (48% each), take time for themselves (43%), just relax (39%) and spend time with a partner (37%).

In the modern world, a person wants not only to succeed at work, but also to build a family, devote time to himself and his loved ones — to keep everything in balance and achieve heights everywhere. According to the results of the study, delegation remains the most effective method of maintaining such a balance. For 58% of respondents, transferring tasks to specialists (cleaning, cleaning, cooking) is still considered the most effective way to save time and effort on more significant tasks.

About the same number of Russians are convinced that multitasking can compensate for time, and about 50% believe that avoiding unimportant tasks works best. Parents also consider working on their mental state (37%), helping loved ones (35%), and tough time management (34%) to be the most effective ways to maintain balance.

"The modern parent carries a lot of responsibility, and in the fast pace of life, he is constantly forced to sacrifice something in order to do everything. He tries to be a successful adult in everything, with a thriving job, a well—fed family and a vibrant life, but it is important to remember that a child does not need an ideal parent, but a happy one. Therefore, any possibility of delegating tasks to specialists is a sound decision in favor of what is really important, and not a sign of weakness," says Anastasia Azovtseva, marketing director of the Kidsout service, an active baby, mother of two children.

The most typical portrait of the customer of such a service is a woman aged 25 to 44, the mother of one or two children. Approximately 65% of them are full—time employees, but only a third of them use twitter services on a weekly basis.

Earlier, on November 23, the State Duma prepared new measures to support families with children. A draft law has been drafted that proposes to increase the number of families eligible for a monthly allowance in connection with the birth and upbringing of a child. The authors of the bill believe that the initiative will help support single parents, large families and low-income families.

The Tomsk Region has launched a training program for caring for children and the elderly since 2021. The regional Department of Labor and Employment believes that this program is one of the tools that will improve the professionalism of nurses and nannies, and at the same time modernize the industry as a whole.
