The death toll from a fire in a residential complex in Hong Kong has increased to 83 people. This was reported on November 27 by The South China Morning Post (SCMP) newspaper.

"The death toll <... It has reached 83, and many relatives continue to search for missing loved ones with heavy hearts," the publication says.

The fire in an apartment complex in Hong Kong became known on November 26. According to the Associated Press, about 700 people were evacuated and placed in temporary accommodation.

On November 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin offered condolences to Chinese President Xi Jinping in connection with the fire in Hong Kong. The Russian leader asked to convey his condolences and words of support to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to all those injured.
