A new feature has become available to users of the Russian messenger MAX. Now they will be able to access the electronic versions of the main documents directly in the profile. With the help of a dynamic QR code, they will be able to confirm their age or special status, which entitles them to benefits. How to access documents in the MAX messenger from Gosuslug

Information about the main personal documents has been added to the MAX messenger. You can view them directly in the profile in the "Digital ID" section after marking the consent to data processing. Currently, users can:

• passport;
• driver's license;
• SNILS;
• compulsory medical insurance policy;
• INN.

According to the messenger's press service, the list of available documents will be expanded in the future. In future updates, it will be possible to add vehicle information to the profile, as well as the children's basic documents.

How to get quick access to documents in MAX:

• Install the latest versions of MAX and Gosuslug from the official app stores;
• In the MAX app, go to your profile and select the Digital ID section;
• The system will offer a list of available documents, select the necessary ones.;
• Give permission to process personal data through Gosuslugi (for first use only).
• After that, cards with the selected documents will appear in the profile. Biometrics will not be required to view them.

How to set up a Digital ID in MAX

The digital ID in the MAX messenger is an electronic analogue of paper documents. You can use it to confirm your age, retirement status, check into a hotel, and more. To do this, a dynamic QR code is generated in the application, which can be presented instead of a passport, policy, driver's license, etc.

The feature was launched in test mode in September 2025. The Magnit retailer was one of the first to introduce it — the possibility of age verification appeared at the cash registers of some stores in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Krasnodar.

MAX users over the age of 18 with valid biometrics in the Unified Biometric System (UBS) can create a Digital ID. Instead of the EBS data, you can also use a new type of passport — just attach it to your phone when applying for a Digital ID. If there is no such document, you will have to contact the bank to register your biometrics.

How to create a Digital ID in MAX:

• Update the MAX messenger and the Gosuslugi app;
• Find the "Digital ID" section in the MAX profile and click on the "Create" button;
• Allow the Gosuslugi application to log in by face or fingerprint;
• Click on the "Go to Public Services" button, allow the processing of personal data and confirm your identity using biometrics or a new type of passport.;
• In the window that opens, take a selfie with a neutral facial expression on a light background without foreign objects and sharp shadows.;
• Wait for the confirmation of the data.

A number of serious measures have been taken to protect user data. The digital ID is only available on the device on which it was created. A dynamic QR code is opened by Face ID or fingerprint. However, it is updated once every 30 seconds, and it is impossible to take a screenshot with it — there will only be a white square in the screenshot.
