Two domestic cats with rabies have been identified in Sevastopol.

Rabies quarantine was introduced in part of the Nakhimov district in Sevastopol. A dangerous disease was detected in domestic cats: one in Orlovka, the second on the Ship's side, the press service of the regional government reports.

The diagnosis of the pets was confirmed in the laboratory, writes IA SevastopolMedia. Information about people who came into contact with infected animals was sent to the city Department of Health and the territorial department of Rospotrebnadzor.

All necessary measures are being taken to prevent the spread of the disease. Specialists, in particular, carry out clinical examination and vaccination of animals on nearby streets.

Earlier it was reported that an Australian resident died of a rare bat-borne virus a few months after being bitten. The first symptoms of infection are similar to the flu.
