Military threats and risks are increasing on the western flank of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and the situation looks like a besieged fortress. This was announced on November 27 by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

"Military risks and threats are increasing along the perimeter of the CSTO borders, especially on the western flank of the organization, where, it would seem, an adequate and stable situation should be maintained," BelTA quoted him as saying.

The Belarusian leader noted that in the current configuration of security in the Eurasian space, the CSTO remains relevant.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the CSTO a reliable guarantor of security and stability in the Eurasian space. He also noted that in the context of geopolitical tensions, the tasks of promoting collective interests are coming to the fore.
