Rioters at Makhachkala airport in 2023 threw stones at police officers. This was announced on November 27 by Ruslan Mustafayev, Deputy Head of the Department of Public Order Protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan.

"Police officers were periodically hit by a hail of stones and other heavy objects, fragments of paving slabs, some boxes, clods of earth, and the like," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
