18 kg of narcotic drugs were seized from a man in Altai
In Altai, Talmensky district police officers identified and detained a 38-year-old local resident who was storing 18 kg of marijuana. This was reported by the Russian Interior Ministry.
"The detainee said that he had collected wild cannabis on the outskirts of the settlement. He brought the "datura grass" home, dried it and stored it for personal use," the department's Telegram channel said in a statement.
When examining the malefactor's house, the police found six bags of dry vegetable matter with a characteristic odor, and the seized items were sent for examination. According to its results, it was confirmed that it was marijuana with a total weight of 18 kg.
A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing of narcotic drugs").
Earlier, on November 6, it was reported that in Primorsky Krai, employees of the drug control department seized 43 kg of marijuana from a local resident, who faces up to 10 years in prison. It is specified that the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Dalnerechensky" opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
