Moldovan special services are trying to disrupt the elections of deputies at all levels in Transnistria by blackmailing and intimidating election commission staff. This was reported on November 26 in the press service of the Ministry of State Security (MGB) of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR).

"Threats from the Moldovan special services have become more frequent against the election commission staff. According to operational data, on the eve of the elections of deputies at all levels, numerous calls are recorded from the phones of Moldovan telecom operators. The goal is to persuade them to resign, thereby disrupting the holding of elections," the agency's message reports RIA Novosti.

In addition, as the Ministry of State Security of the PMR added, the Moldovan special services resort to blackmail.

"Those who apply for Moldovan citizenship are told that the decision to grant it depends on representatives of the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Moldova. In other cases, he is intimidated by imprisonment and a criminal case under the law on Separatism," the press service of the department noted.

On November 1, Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Ozerov told Izvestia that Russia is open to dialogue on the status of Transnistria and sees no obstacles to its beginning. According to the diplomat, a serious and competent approach is needed in this matter, since such problems are not solved offhand. According to him, the conflict was connected with attempts to commit genocide against the Russian-speaking Russian population in Transnistria and was stopped by Russia.

Later, on November 12, the head of the Second Department of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Russian Foreign Minister Alexei Polishchuk said that despite the unconstructive approach of the Moldovan authorities, Russia is ready to contribute to the settlement process in Transnistria. He drew attention to the illegal actions of Chisinau during the September parliamentary elections in Moldova, when residents of the left bank were deprived of the opportunity to vote.
