The three-year suspended sentence imposed on actress Aglaya Tarasova in the drug smuggling case may result in significant restrictions for her. Lawyer Konstantin Evteev informed Izvestia about this on November 26.

"A probationer is obliged to observe public order and fulfill other imposed conditions. Systematic offenses and disregard of requirements may serve as grounds for a suspended sentence under the rules of Article 74 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cancellation of a suspended sentence or extension of probation." — Ed.)," the lawyer noted.

According to him, the suspended sentence in itself does not prohibit either traveling abroad or going to entertainment venues, including bars. Nevertheless, a probationer is considered convicted during the probation period, therefore, formally falls under the scope of this rule in practice.

Yevteyev added that it is possible to ban travel until the end of the probation period or until the situation changes. For example, removing or changing restrictions. The court may also impose special obligations on a probationer and require him not to change his place of residence without notice, not to visit certain places, get a job, and so on.
