Experts have stated the need for changes in preferential car loans

Concessional car loan and leasing programs need to be adjusted and changed to make them more effective. Igor Morzharetto, partner of the Autostat analytical agency, told Izvestia about this on November 27.

"Since both government programs are "tied up" in loans and leasing, they mostly provide support to banks and leasing companies. The scheme seems to be more effective when the buyer, purchasing a domestic car, receives a direct discount, which is compensated by the state directly to the car factory," Igor Morzharetto noted.

In turn, Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, considers it necessary to raise the bar for models covered by these programs.

"In addition to increasing allocations for these government programs, we need to raise the price bar. Currently, not all Russian-made cars fall under the limit of 2 million rubles. It is high time to raise it to at least 2.5 million rubles, which will allow us to cover a wider range of models that people are interested in," said Maxim Kadakov.
