In the city of Biryusinsk in the Irkutsk region, an 82-year-old woman and her 60-year-old son died as a result of a fire in a three-apartment building. The regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia informs about this on its page on the VKontakte social network.

The fire occurred the night before, on November 25, in a one-story three-apartment building on Zhuravleva Street. A family with children living in one of the apartments evacuated, the father of the family, along with people who came to the rescue, knocked down the door of the apartment, from which heavy smoke was coming.

The men carried an 82-year-old woman and her 60-year-old son out of the burning building. Paramedics arrived and tried to rescue the injured, but to no avail. People died from carbon monoxide poisoning, IrkutskMedia news agency writes.

The fire area was 15 square meters, six people and two pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing. According to preliminary data provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire started due to a violation of fire safety rules during the operation of furnace heating. The late detection of the fire also played a role.
