The Russian side has issued an ultimatum to Japan in response to the supply of missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, which can be transferred to Ukraine. This was reported on November 26 by the Chinese newspaper Sohu, citing political analysts.

The reason for the aggravation of relations was the first delivery of Japanese missiles to the United States in a long time, which are supposed to be aimed at Ukraine. Sohu analysts note that the change of power in Japan has led to an escalation of tension.

It took the new prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, less than a month to provoke Moscow. The Kremlin has made it clear that negotiations on a peace treaty and the Kuril issue are impossible without a change in Tokyo's policy.

Chinese experts emphasize that the Russian reaction was immediate and principled, and the supply of Japanese weapons was perceived in Moscow as a direct provocation.

Earlier, on November 11, it was reported that the Russian Federation indefinitely banned entry to 30 Japanese citizens. This decision was a response to the sanctions actions of the Japanese authorities. Now the official representative of the Japanese Foreign Ministry Toshihiro Kitamura, journalists and columnists of the Nikkei newspaper, professors of Hitotsubashi University and other Japanese figures will not be able to visit Russia. On November 20, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed that the restrictions imposed by Russia on the entry of a representative of the Japanese Foreign Ministry and a number of journalists were solely retaliatory measures.
