- Megafon has upgraded the existing ones and built new base stations in Mozhaisk district
Megafon has built new base stations in Mozhaisk district of the Moscow region and upgraded the existing ones. Residents of the villages of Kolychevo and Gidrouzel, the villages of Sergovo and Novy Put, as well as the Chemist and Vorsobino farms have access to the Internet with an average speed of 100 Mbit/s, the company's press service said.
Experts have added low-frequency bands, which allow to increase the network coverage area and improve signal penetration into residential buildings.
The new base stations are built using technology that supports multithreaded data transmission, as well as VoLTE technology (voice communication over the 4G network), Megafon noted.
The telecom equipment is positioned in such a way that the signal covers not only residential areas, but also key transport routes — roads connecting Mozhaisk district with neighboring districts.
Since the beginning of this year, the settlements in Mozhaisk district have been visited by guests from the Smolensk, Kaluga and Tver regions, as well as from St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
"We have not only expanded the coverage area, but also introduced technologies that ensure high-quality voice calls and stable transmission of large amounts of data. This is especially important for the district in conditions of high seasonal load during the upcoming New Year holidays," said Timur Fakhrutdinov, Director of Infrastructure Projects at Megafon in the Moscow region.
