The Federation Council approved the law on the rating of driving schools
The Federation Council has approved a law that proposes to introduce quality control in driving schools and establish indicators of their effectiveness. This was reported on November 26 by RIA Novosti. The law should enter into force 180 days after its official publication.
The State Duma adopted a bill on assessing the quality of driving schools in the second and third readings on November 13. Amendments are being made to the law "On Road Safety". According to the document, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will develop a "list of indicators, criteria and frequency of performance assessment" for driving schools.
Data on the quality of training in driving schools is planned to be posted on the Internet, which will allow citizens to take them into account when choosing an educational institution.
Earlier, on November 14, auto expert Alexey Ivanov said that after the introduction of a rating of driving schools based on data on accidents involving their graduates, the quality of driver training will begin to grow. He noted that the rating, which will take into account the accident rate of graduates within five years after obtaining their license, is able to form a healthy competition between more than 7.5 thousand driving schools.
