The Investigative Committee of the Pskov region has launched an investigation into the death of a man during a fire in the Porkhovsky municipal district. A private house in the village of Borovichi, Porkhovsky district, burned down.

As told to the Pskov news feed in the SU TFR in the region, law enforcement agencies received a message about the discovery of a man's body at the scene of the fire.

According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire could be careless handling of an open fire source.

Medical and fire-technical examinations will take place in the near future. Experts will establish the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier, on November 18, it was reported that 12 people, including nine children, were killed in a fire in a two-story private house in the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan. The causes of the fire are being determined.
