In China, according to the decision of the prosecutor's office, Liu Weidong, the former CEO of one of the country's largest arms companies, China South Industries Group, was detained for bribery. This was reported on November 26 by the portal QQ.com .

"On the instructions of the Supreme People's Prosecutor's Office, the Henan Provincial People's Prosecutor's Office decided to arrest Liu Weidong on suspicion of bribery," the publication says.

The accused, using his official position, accepted bribes on a particularly large scale.

Earlier, on October 17, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping decided to resign nine high-ranking military personnel. These measures are part of Xi Jinping's anti-corruption efforts. One of China's most influential generals, He Weidong, was also among those dismissed. The reason for his resignation, as well as other dismissals, were "serious disciplinary violations and abuse of power."
