The Nameless volcano spewed a column of ash up to 5.5 km high in the Kamchatka Territory. This was announced on November 26 by the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (IVIS). Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the official website.
"The activity of the volcano remains high, accompanied by powerful emissions of gas and steam and numerous hot avalanches. KVERT satellite data has shown a large thermal anomaly over the volcano in recent days with a high temperature difference between the thermal anomaly and the background," the institute said in a statement.
It is noted that the plume extends for 50 km in a northeasterly direction.
The unnamed aircraft was assigned an "orange" aviation hazard code.
Earlier, on November 15, the Krasheninnikov volcano in Kamchatka spewed ash to a height of 2.7 km. It was clarified that "the explosions lifted ash 2.7 km above sea level, and the ash plume stretched 40 km to the southwest."
