Neftekhimik beat Avangard 5:6 in the KHL match

Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik hockey Club defeated Avangard Omsk in the KHL Kontinental Hockey League regular season match — 6:5. Neftekhimik made an impressive comeback, managing to win back from 2:5 and break its four-game losing streak. This became known on November 25.

Nikita Khoruzhev and Andrey Belozerov played a key role, scoring doubles each. Ivan Nikolishin and German Tochilkin added one goal each, who also scored an assist.

The denouement came two seconds before the end of the meeting: Belozerov was passing, but the puck, after ricocheting off the stick of the opposing defender, flew over the goalkeeper and ended up in the net, reports Sport-Express.

Maxim Lajoie and Nail Yakupov were the most notable players for Avangard, both scoring three points (2+1). Alexander Volkov scored another goal.

After this match, Avangard retained third place in the Eastern Conference with 39 points after 29 games. Neftekhimik, having scored 33 points in 32 meetings, rose to the fifth position.

Earlier in the day, SKA St. Petersburg hockey club beat CSKA Moscow in the KHL regular season match. The meeting held in Moscow at the CSKA Arena stadium ended with the result 4:1 (0:0, 2:0, 2:1) in favor of the Petersburgers.
