On November 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the Day of the Russian Courier Service will be celebrated annually on December 17. The relevant document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The document notes that the holiday is established "in order to preserve and develop historical traditions."

The holiday can help to increase prestige in the bodies of the federal courier service.

Earlier, on October 26, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree approving a new holiday - Court Employee Day. The date of the Court Employee's Day celebration, November 5, was not chosen by chance. It coincides with the publication in 1723 by Peter the Great of the historical decree "On the form of the court."
