In Kurgan region, alcohol sales time will be reduced to 20:00

In the Kurgan region, the retail sale of alcoholic beverages will be reduced to 20:00. This was announced on November 25 in the regional regional Duma.

"In particular, the retail sale of alcoholic beverages is not allowed from 20:00 to 10:00 local time (with the exception of the retail sale of alcoholic beverages in the provision of catering services, other cases established by Federal Law)," the Duma said in a statement on the Vkontakte social network.

It is noted that the deputies adopted amendments to the law "On the establishment of restrictions in the retail sale of alcoholic beverages and the prohibition of trade in non-alcoholic tonic drinks (including energy drinks) in the Kurgan region." The changes will take effect on March 1, 2026.

Such innovations imply a ban on the sale of alcohol in the provision of catering services at facilities located in apartment buildings.

The Duma added that the ban applies to those facilities where the entrance for buyers is organized from the entrances of an apartment building and there is no separate entrance for loading and unloading goods. In addition, such measures also affect facilities that have a separate entrance located from the entrances of an apartment building.

The Duma stressed that the adopted changes will contribute to strengthening control over alcohol trafficking in apartment buildings, limiting the availability of alcohol and reducing the number of offenses related to its use. Currently, retail sale of alcoholic beverages in the region is allowed from 8:00 to 22:00.

On November 20, deputies of the Moscow Regional Duma adopted a bill according to which the sale of alcohol in public catering establishments, the entrances to which are located in the courtyards of apartment buildings, from March 1, 2026, will be allowed only two hours a day. It was noted that the sale of alcohol will be allowed only from 13:00 to 15:00 hours. In addition, since September 1, a ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages in residential courtyards has been in effect in the Moscow region.
