In the Kaluga region, a convict threw acid in the face of the head of a correctional colony. This was announced on November 25 by the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) in the region.
"On the territory of the correctional institution of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Kaluga region, a convict threw acid in the face of the head of the colony, who was on duty," the agency reports.
It is noted that the prison governor was taken to the hospital. He was diagnosed with severe burns to his face, eyes and hands.
The Office of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the Kaluga region is conducting an inspection. Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
On July 10, the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Perm Territory reported that a sawmill caught fire on the territory of correctional colony No. 1 in Solikamsk. A total of 42 people and 13 pieces of equipment participated in extinguishing the fire. There was no evacuation, and there were no casualties among colony staff or prisoners.
